Our Mission



The Untermyer Performing Arts Council is a (501) c3 not-for-profit organization operated solely by a volunteer Board of Directors with a passionate commitment to the arts and service to the public.

All programming, artistic selection, presentation, public relations and fundraising is done entirely by volunteers. This allows all of our funding to go directly to artistic fees, community outreach, and the operation of the organization.

Untermyer Performing Arts has dedicated itself to community service since its formation in 1976. All of our events always have been and continue to be presented free of charge.

We are grateful to our major funders: the City of Yonkers, ArtsWestchester., the Westchester County Legislators and Empire City Casino by MGM. We also thank the other local businesses and individuals who support our work.

The Untermyer Performing Arts Council’s

Recognition of the Contributions of Indigenous Peoples.

We thank the indigenous peoples, caretakers of Mother Earth for many millennia, realizing and respecting her gifts of water, fire and air. This relationship is based on their profound spiritual connection to Mother Earth, the connection that guided their ancestors to practice reverence, humility and reciprocity.

Everything taken is used with the understanding only what is needed is taken. What is taken is watchfully used, aware of the amount taken and the method with which it is taken, to ensure future generations are not put in peril

We gratefully acknowledge the Native peoples on whose ancestral homelands we present our .performances, as well as the Native Communities who make their home in the Yonkers area today.
